We saw Adam skate roughly two and a half years ago and immediately asked him and filmer Marek “Mitch” Lovás to do a part. Of course, the first thing that happens is that Adam gets injured. By the time he comes back, he has changed his outlook on skating and so this part is his first where we feel he has really found himself! If you want to know what that means read the interview, below.
Video by Marek “Mitch” Lovás.
Interview by Roland Hoogwater.
Hey Adam, nice to meet you, you’re in the studio, right?
Adam: Yeah, after this, I have a tattoo session.
So you’re working as an artist full-time?
Adam: Basically. I used to work in corporate movie production, but when the writer’s strike hit, I focused more on tattooing. I had some savings, so I gave it a shot.
That’s cool. And you’re making some money from music, too?
Adam: Yeah, sometimes, like 40 euros here and there.
(Mitch joins)
Mitch, how are you?
Mitch: Good, but I’ve had major dental issues. Skipped the dentist for 10 years, and now I’m in there every month. I just spent 500 euros on a root canal an hour ago!
Oof, I’ve had my share of tooth problems too.
Mitch: I had a terrible dentist before who made things worse. I finally found a good one who explained what went wrong.
Adam: In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, some dentists are known for scamming people.
Mitch: Yeah, mine confirmed it happens. But this new dentist is solid.
So, Mitch, give us a smile.
Mitch: (laughs) It’s getting there.
Adam, your sister got scammed too?
Adam: Yeah, but there’s a dental watchdog group now where you can report bad dentists.
That’s great but sad it’s needed.
Mitch: At least I’ve got a good dentist now.

Roland, your teeth are perfect. You should be in a Colgate commercial. (laughs) Hook me up if you know someone!
(Conversation shifts to their recent video project)
The video turned out amazing. The editing, music, everything. It really shows that Adam isn’t just a skater—he’s got so many sides.
Adam: That was Mitch’s idea. He’s got a great feel for storytelling. I’ve known him for years, but suddenly he’s making these next-level videos.
Mitch, how did you get so good at this?
Mitch: I watched thousands of videos and movies. When I got serious about filming, I spent hours online learning. I filmed over 300 clips last year, constantly experimenting. At the same time, I am still learning and still don’t feel as good. But thank you for the compliments
Adam’s past videos were great, but this one feels different—more like a portrait than just a skate video.
Mitch: Adam’s perfect for this kind of project. He’s insanely talented at everything.
Adam: The challenge was timing. I do so many things that skating wasn’t always my priority. That’s why it took a year to finish.
But it was worth it. Every trick looks like it came from a place of fun, not stress.
Adam: Exactly. I refuse to let skating stress me out. I went through a bad period where I pressured myself to be the best, and it killed my passion. Now, I skate only when I enjoy it.
That’s the best mindset.
Mitch: Some skaters thrive under pressure, but Adam’s the opposite. If you push him, it doesn’t work. We figured out that letting things happen naturally was the way to go.
“Exactly. I refuse to let skating stress me out. I went through a bad period where I pressured myself to be the best, and it killed my passion. Now, I skate only when I enjoy it.”
Adam Križovenský, Prague, 2024.
And the video feels authentic because of that. Even the imperfect landings add to it.
Mitch: Yeah, like that tail slide gap—he landed it sketchy, and we debated redoing it, but I knew it wouldn’t work. And in the end, that first try was the best.
Adam: I used to care about perfection, but now I just go with what feels right.
And you balance so much—tattooing, sculpture, music, skating. How do you manage?
Adam: I can’t do one thing for more than four days. I need variety to stay creative.
You filmed a lot in Prague but avoided the usual famous spots. Why?
Mitch: Everyone from abroad only skates at Stalin Plaza, and I wanted to show a different side of Prague. The city has amazing spots, but no one explores them.
Adam: You’ve seen everything at those famous spots. There’s nothing new.
Mitch: Exactly. Every skate crew from abroad only films at Stalin. I wanted to prove there’s more to Prague.
And you definitely did. This part shows a whole different side of the city.
Mitch: That was the goal. Some media were surprised, saying, “This isn’t what we expected from Prague,” which is exactly what I wanted.
Mission accomplished. Congrats to both of you.
