It is no secret what is going on in Ukraine, Constantine Baranovskyi doesn’t want to put the focus on that, instead, he set out to create something positive. So we asked him to tell us something about his work and this is what he told us:

“The footage in this video isn’t focused on skating skill levels or impressive tricks, but rather on capturing the essence of skating in this moment. Do not misunderstand me, we’re grateful for every chance to skateboard given the current circumstances in Ukraine, and that’s no exaggeration. Skateboarding is what keeps us sane. It helps us to divert our attention from the chaos and maintain our spirits. This video encapsulates that sense of solace and escape. It’s a tribute to all the skaters currently in Ukraine. Together, we’ll overcome this.”

Clothes for Progress joined forces with Skatepark NOORD and Low Blow, a young Ukrainian skate brand to present a collaborative clothing collection titled Same Sun. The collection was made of dead stock items and hand-screen printed in Ukraine. The sun symbolizes unity and responsibility as we are joined under the same sun. Same Sun invites us all to come together to raise funds for a brighter future. Join their event today in Amsterdam and if you can please donate HERE.

Filmed by Brudah Sokrat and Bastiaan van Zadelhoff between Kyiv and Amsterdam.

Our favorite Ukranian brand TheChariotSeven is back with a new video called “Pink”, now the reason it is called pink will become clear to you as soon as you press play. The fact that they filmed this in 3 days is pretty shocking, to say the least. Drop after Drop, rails after rails and stairs after stairs all get skated in a relentless way.

The video description tells me they went out to film this promo for the release of the pink long sleeve (that everybody wears in the video) so if we follow that logic we want to see what they come up with when it is time for their ss 2017 drop.

Many of you may not be aware of TheChariotSeven and to be honest neither were we up until we got an e-mail from them introducing us to the brand. Now TheChariotSeven comes from the Ukraine and in this video both the tricks but even more so the spots make you contemplate a trip there next summer. Another thing worth noting is that they reached out to us via one of our Russian friends Kirill Korobkov it is nice to see that even where there might be a conflict there is also still friendship! Take your time and take in what the guys from TheChariotSeven have to offer.
