We can all agree that at the core of skate culture is a strong DIY spirit. But as skateboarding continues to grow the look and feel of DIY has changed, from professional skatepark builders to companies like Polar (and Pontus in particular) DIY still is omnipresent. Even though we welcome that evolution it is nice to see that some people still hold on to skateboarding’s punk roots!

BAUAMT is an initiative by skaters for skaters (mostly in Berlin). The park looks amazing and is reminiscent of some of the early ’90s builds, rough, weird but fun! So, with that said, it was only logical that Radio Skateboards would pay the place a visit. They all pulled themselves together and came all the way to Lichtenberg with a strong squad that was ready to rip. The result speaks for itself enjoy!

During the premiere of Leon Rudolph’s new video, somebody asked: “Why is this video called Practice?” The answer lies in the opening shot of this video.

Pressed play, still no clue? You probably don’t watch the NBA, Leon does, he got the inspiration for his newest video from a Basketball legend Allen “A.I.” Iverson.

Iverson was at the peak of his skills and got asked about his performance during practice and his response is simply legendary.

Press play and listen to Iverson’s wisdom and watch Leon’s newest video featuring People like:

Jun Kummer, Hyun Kummer, Cephas Benson, Benny Urban, Santiago Sasson, David Jakinda, Farid Ulrich, Peter Buikema, Moritz Alte and many more.

Today we are premiering “Welcome to Franki” a skateboard video by a young filmer out of Frankfurt named Paul Herrmann. The video was shot in Frankfurt, Berlin, Barcelona and the French capital of Paris. It gives you a good insight into what young German skaters are doing (mostly in Frankfurt and Berlin) but it also has some mainstay people like Kai Hillebrand, Valentin Cafuk, and Timo Meiselbach. All in all we back Paul in his efforts and are proud not only to host the online premiere of his new video but also to welcome him into the PLACE squad. From now on Paul will produce a monthly video column for all of you to enjoy but first things first, take a seat, make yourself comfortable, press play and welcome yourself to Franki.

Featuring:

Valentin Cafuk, Tim Griffel, Luis Waterkamp, Max Barthel, Philipp Weil, Lukas Bergener, Clemens Dembinski, Yunus Ergen, Louis Urban, Anton Jäger, Steffen Grap, Daniel Pannemann, Philipp Oehmige, Johannes Schirrmeister, Deniz Bul, Timo Meiselbach, Rahul Rahman, Nils Hansen, Sascha Scharf, Niklas Stube, Ollie Reinicke, Eric Erhardt, Max Obert, Timo Klein, Kai Hillebrandt, Tom Weimar, Martynas Katauskas, Andrius Kohrs, Tim Thomas, Matthias Ellinger, Kert Hollywood, Luis Kohl.
