Converse Cons X Hopps
While watching this video we were thinking three things is this style still current? Does it matter if it works? and lastly, Jahmal Williams still has it!
The first two you can debate amongst yourself the latter is undebatable, enjoy!
Converse – One Star World Tour 2018
As trends progress, it seems that every brand thought to itself “Get the velcro strap!”, and they took that strap and put it on their one-star shoe. After that was done they wanted to show the world and thus, the second one-star world tour was a fact.
Featuring:
Juan Virues, Felipe Bartolome, Ryan Townley, Dane Barker, Shane Farber, Kaue Cossa, Remy Taveira, Max Taylor, Paul Grund and Bobby De Keyzer.
Converse Cons’ “Purple” Video
It seems like that nowadays the Thrasher site has become the number one choice when it comes to a media outlet even for the bigger brands. The new Converse CONS Purple video is not released on their own YT channel but via the “Skateboard Bible”.
Watch Jake Johnson, Louie Lopez, K-rod, Bobby DeKeyzer & 100 other guys go absolutely a 100% in.
Converse – Pastel
It is no secret that we really enjoy James Cruickshank’s lens work, so to see these new Converse x Grey Mag edits drop is a joyous occasion for all that love Sheffield’s finest. Obviously, the fact that he is working with skaters like Bobby De Keyzer, Jerome Campbell, Harry Lintell and Remy Tav doesn’t hurt either.
Arson Dept – Harry Lintell
Harry Lintell seems to be having a lot of fun in SF, it almost seems that he needed no time adjusting at all. To be honest we don’t know exactly where in Brittain he grew up but it seems like he was born to go down those hills. Check it out for yourself and enjoy.
UNEMPLOYED SKATEBOARDS – STREET TAPE VOL. 05
A little sun in Marseille mixed in with some of the Converse Cons squads skating. Enjoy some Sean Pablo channeling Aaron Suski in this one.
Jonathan Mehring – Somewheres East
National Geographic, skate photographer Johnathan Mehring ventures out into Canada and on the way tells us a lot about the way he shoots skateboarding.
Which might seem uninteresting to a lot of you at first but when you insert Zered Bassett, Jake Johnson, Brian Delatorre & Eli Reed things start to change.
Speak, Memory – David Stenström
Speak, Memory by Blake Myers is showing a week with David Stenström in his hometown Stockholm, Sweden with a voice over by his Polar TM Pontus Alv.
Mike Arnold’s “Lloyds” Part
After Bobby Worrest’s “Turf Killer” part now it is Mike Arnold’s time to present himself skating his hometown spot called “Lloyds”.
We respect hometown spots and we respect the creativity it takes to make something worth while there. Mike Arnolds put in the work and came out with something special.
PLACEMAGPAULE IN COPENHAGEN – TRAVEL RECAP 2017
With all the CPH coverage dropping we present to you one last recap to close it off and that is the PLACEMAGPAULE photo recap.
Contrary to last year almost the whole PLACE staff traveled to arguably the best city in the world. But even though we were all in the same city, festival rules applied, which meant that within moments we lost each other and started doing our own thing. We all ended up at different events and safe for a few moments only saw each other at the plethora of parties that the CPH Open is host to.
It seemed everybody had a great time at every single event but our highlight was definitely the Levi’s event which looked rained out at first but ended up saving our lives by offering us a boat ride, good food, cold drinks and a very hot but healthy sauna experience!
We wish we could say “See you next year!” but the organizers felt that it was time for a break. So we will end it by saying, enjoy Paule’s photo recap and see you at the next Copenhagen Open.

The Goodness – Mark Metzner
We met Mark while he was out living in Berlin we skated together and we knew he was good but he still really managed to surprise us in this video.
We also love the animations and want to give a shout out to Bannsen who probably spent quite a few hours working on them.
Aaron Herrington & Brian Delatorre – One Night In New York
A timeless city documented in a timeless light, the headlight of a car, streetlights, flashlights or the light coming from a phone screen. In the end, it does not matter it is always hard to skate after the sun goes down.
AZZURRO – Mauro Caruso in Gibellina
When the skater comes with his own concept you already know that there is a great commitment to the project. Mauro Caruso brought over the years more than a couple of photographers and videographers to the Sicilian ghost-town and with the help of Ludovic Azémar and Carhartt WIP the result is here to watch. Featuring : Mauro Caruso, Felipe Bartolomé, Joseph Biais
“In 1968 Gibellina, a small town nestled in the Belice valley of western Sicily, was destroyed by an earthquake. Today, it remains silent. Some 11 kilometres from where this town once stood, you will find its replacement, Gibellina Nuova. Designed by some of Italy’s most prominent artists and architects of the time, it is a town unlike any other in the region, resembling more of an open-air museum than a place where people work and live. But in many ways, it is representative of the region itself, a place that prides itself on being different and where people consider themselves Sicilian first, Italian second.
It is here that provides the setting for Azzurro, a film featuring Sicilian-born Carhartt WIP skater Mauro Caruso. The project was first initiated by Mauro in 2010 only to then suffer a series of setbacks that he came to refer to as “the curse of Gibellina.” It was finally completed in March of this year. Shot by Ludo Azémar in a style that evokes the aesthetic of neorealism, Italy’s golden era of cinema, Azzurro effortlessly blends skateboarding, architecture and art.”
Place ‘Time Issue’ Launch – Snapshot Recap Madrid
After the launch, it’s the afterparty, then, after the party, it’s back to the hotel lobby, then.. We went back to Madrid to celebrate our launch of the ‘Time Issue’ #60 – this time we were not very lucky with the weather, so no skating for us. But there is a bunch of other things to do in Madrid, right guys? Yes ma, MAD-Style, Fiesta, Remix with the homies from the Sevenmad Crew (Cheers Boys!)
Enough with the R.Kelly lyrics. But we would suggest you listen to THE SONG while flipping through the images.
Ok, Spain. We had enough for a few weeks, at least. We would like to thank Carhartt WIP & Converse CONS for supporting us. All photos by Danny Sommerfeld.
Place ‘Time Issue’ Launch – Madrid

Grey X Converse – Tarte au Citron
Our friends over at Grey Magazine ventured out to Marseille and shot a video and a special magazine over in the French harbor town. It features some of our favorites like Doudou and Mr. Tognelli the latter found a once in a lifetime type of spot to do a trick almost every skater would like to do at least once. Check out the video and go out and skate.
Featuring Mike Arnold, Matlok Bennett-Jones Edouard Depaz, Sylvain Tognelli and Juan Virues.
Noah Bunink – Le Remix
What can you really say about Noah Bunink? He walks the walk and he talks the talk, he is the kind that even when he drops his board the line continues and if you were ever out skating with him you know that a line can change slightly from try to try!
It is a pretty bad cliché but you need to see young Bunink skate live because video doesn’t do him justice unless you install a 24-hour webcam. Enjoy this Live Skateboard Media remix!
Louie Lopez – Spitfire Part
No Spitfire video yet but a slew of parts have come out and this one has it’s moments. The only real problem one could have is that Louie makes it all look too easy.
Jacob J. by Al Davis
Obviously Al Davis seems to have a penchant for creative film making because this super 8 short film starring Jake Johnson shot in San Fransisco 2016 transports a good vibe and even seems to mutely tell a little story about a usual day in Jake’s life.
