Carhartt WIP’s “INSIDE OUT” Video
Carhartt WIP just came out with a brilliant full lenght video titled “INSIDE OUT”. We went to see it on the Berlin premiere and it was even better to watch this film by Romain Batard and Joaquim Bayle on the big screen. It’s a bit early to say but this might be one of the best videos of 2022. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Watch Felipe Bartolomé, Ebou Sanyang, Tolia Titaev, Sylvain Tognelli, Joseph Biais, Max Palmer, Rémy Taveira and many more give their best.
Eetu Toropainen in “e2 Solutions”
Eetu Toropainen or “E2” can pretty much skate it all. You might want to watch this one twice.
Carhartt WIP Skateboarding – Galleria Continua – Concrete Cathedral
Carhartt WIP is often one of the anchor points where art and skateboarding join together to form a synthesis. Both live together, working in unison.
We took a little excerpt from Carhartt themselves for those that want to delve deeper into what that all means:
“Carhartt WIP Skateboarding has collaborated with renowned international art institution Galleria Continua. The project is centered around a new, experimental skate space at the gallery’s location in Boissy-le-Châtel, an hour east of the French capital. The snake run was created by MBL architects and Bureau D. Apheceix, using a series of free-form, artisanal techniques that allows the structure to blend in with its surrounding landscape.“
Quartersnacks — Carhartt WIP SOCIAL Remix
Romain Batard made it onto what we consider one of skateboarding best platform with his remix of the Carhartt WIP socials videos. Chapeau to all parties involved.
Carhartt WIP x Pop Trading Company – “Nihilist”
If you know about POP you know how close to home this one hits. Also, a Carhartt collab is always a great opportunity to work with great people.
Also every time Sami El Hassani gets behind the lens we love the results.
Photo Recap: I’m getting Cowboy Boots Soon – Absolutely No Selection Launch Event
Last Thursday, the 20th of June aka the day before “Midsummer Night” or “Go Skateboarding Day” as we sometimes refer to the 21st of June saw the release of one of our proudest moments… The release of our 600-page collaborative effort together with Carhartt WIP.
The book doesn’t need many words to explain the concept, 1 weekend, 1 photographer, 1 skater and absolutely no selection, or better yet we printed all that was shot by our photographer Danny Sommerfeld. The book itself you can find and look at via a visit to selected skate and Carhartt shops all over Europe and we would love to hear your feedback once you did just that.
Back to last Thursday, we once again invited Danny to shoot the release event in Berlin and this time he put his imagination to work and came out with this very special and “selective” photo recap, cowboy boots included.

Meant for the gram but also on the regular web… these little edits show the quality of the team in bitesize portions.
Carhartt WIP – Hringur
Felipe Bartolome, Phil Zwijsen, Ollie Lock and Zach Riley went to Iceland together with James Craven for Grey Magazine. If we can believe the film it turned out to be a beautiful experience!

Carhartt WIP – LENTIICULAR
Some beautiful work by the talented Roger Gonzalez for the always changing but never boring Carhartt WIP brand. Enjoy!
Carhartt – Marseille
One of our favorite filmers, Tao Ström took some of his boys to one of France’s most dangerous cities. But in the end, Romain Gonzalez, Shin Sanbongi, Andrew Wilson, David Stenström, Nils Svensson and Tao himself escaped with good times and some great footage.
O3EPO – Carhartt WIP
Carhartt and Absurd Skateboards never disappoint. Good one, guys.
“Over a three week period in 2016, the crew – which consisted of skaters from both Carhartt WIP and Russian brand Absurd Skateboards – journeyed over 6000 km, exploring the vibrant cities, vast countryside and burgeoning skate scenes of the world’s largest country.
O3EPO, which translates to ‘lake’ in Russian, features Carhartt WIP skaters Igor Fardin, Felipe Bartolomé and Joseph Biais, alongside Absurd’s Tolia Titaev and Gosha Konyshev.
Packed into two small cars, the assembled team made it through five time zones, one hundred different skate spots and multiple bottles of local vodka. The grueling journey was captured by videographer Anton Beliaev and photographer Alexey Lapin, with the assistance of Kirill Korobkov.”
AZZURRO – Mauro Caruso in Gibellina
When the skater comes with his own concept you already know that there is a great commitment to the project. Mauro Caruso brought over the years more than a couple of photographers and videographers to the Sicilian ghost-town and with the help of Ludovic Azémar and Carhartt WIP the result is here to watch. Featuring : Mauro Caruso, Felipe Bartolomé, Joseph Biais
“In 1968 Gibellina, a small town nestled in the Belice valley of western Sicily, was destroyed by an earthquake. Today, it remains silent. Some 11 kilometres from where this town once stood, you will find its replacement, Gibellina Nuova. Designed by some of Italy’s most prominent artists and architects of the time, it is a town unlike any other in the region, resembling more of an open-air museum than a place where people work and live. But in many ways, it is representative of the region itself, a place that prides itself on being different and where people consider themselves Sicilian first, Italian second.
It is here that provides the setting for Azzurro, a film featuring Sicilian-born Carhartt WIP skater Mauro Caruso. The project was first initiated by Mauro in 2010 only to then suffer a series of setbacks that he came to refer to as “the curse of Gibellina.” It was finally completed in March of this year. Shot by Ludo Azémar in a style that evokes the aesthetic of neorealism, Italy’s golden era of cinema, Azzurro effortlessly blends skateboarding, architecture and art.”
Felipe Bartolomé – TIME
Felipe Bartolome is actually one of our favorites. He’s one of those people you have to meet in real life to see and feel his power and the way he deals with things. Although he won’t be up before noon, there is a huge amount of energy parked somewhere in his body, that pours out just right after he wakes. His batteries are charged around noon, I guess.
When we met Felipe again in January for a Converse event in Stockholm, Sweden he told us to come to Madrid and stay for a while to go out skating with his friends. While he was probably just being nice to us, we had actually thought about it earlier but kept our mouths shut because we thought packing our things to visit Spain for the 50th time might be a bit much. Besides, we didn’t wanna make a false promise, of course. Though Felipe admitted he was a bit astonished when he got the call that we will be on the plane within the next few days, he surely responded positively to the news.

After the launch, it’s the afterparty, then, after the party, it’s back to the hotel lobby, then.. We went back to Madrid to celebrate our launch of the ‘Time Issue’ #60 – this time we were not very lucky with the weather, so no skating for us. But there is a bunch of other things to do in Madrid, right guys? Yes ma, MAD-Style, Fiesta, Remix with the homies from the Sevenmad Crew (Cheers Boys!)
Enough with the R.Kelly lyrics. But we would suggest you listen to THE SONG while flipping through the images.
Ok, Spain. We had enough for a few weeks, at least. We would like to thank Carhartt WIP & Converse CONS for supporting us. All photos by Danny Sommerfeld.

Isle Skateboards & Carhartt WIP – Paving Space
Paving Space is a contemorary art project by Raphaël Zarka that takes advantage of the nature of skateboarding to function very well with geometrical figures. Inspired by mathematician Arthur Moritz Schoenflies’ three dimensional models, Raphaël Zarka built sculptures that consist of different geometrical components that enable to create innumerous compositions. However these sculptures can already be seen as art by themselves, Raphaël Zarka adds the motions of skateboarding to his geometrical structures, which, in turn, opens up a complete new field of compositions because every skateboarder skates a certain obstacle in an own way.
Featuring Sylvain Tognelli, Nick Jensen, Casper Brooker, Jan Kliewer, Joseph Biais, Rémy Taveira, Josh Pall, Chris Jones and Armand Vaucher.
Carhartt WIP – Seoul & Past Neo
The Carhartt WIP team visited South Korea to experience the difference between skating the old Seoul and Songdo, the brand new futuristic smart city where everything is monitored and under control.
Featuring: Aaron Herrington, Chris Milic, Andrew Wilson, Joseph Biais, Jerome Campbell, Yoshihiro “Deshi” Omoto and Max Palmer.
