After a longer break, Romain Batard is finally back with a new installment of one of our favorite ongoing skate series a.k.a. Giddy. Number 12 is completely filmed in the cities of Monterrey and Mexico. We get why a lot of people go there lately – the spots look amazing.

Rough Cut: Giddy 11 Part 1
It is always lovely to see not only the results but the road to the successes. And Romain Batard always has his own fun way of getting there.
Romain Batard – Giddy #11
This one has a lot, that is why it is called the long one 20 minutes of fun so “GIDDY UP!
Featuring:
Edouard Depaz, Valentin Bauer, Joseph Biais, Lilian Fev, Marca Barbier, Remy Taveira, and many more.
Romain Batard – Giddy #10
A new Giddy is upon us and with all other episodes of this series, this has a concept, a very simple form follows function type of concept. You view stuff on your phone, you film stuff on your phone so this one is sized for viewing on your phone.
Anyway, enjoy the dudes in L.A.
ROMAIN BATARD – GIDDY #8
At first when I started the Giddy series I wanted every one of them to have a different theme but in the end, I think they all end up looking almost similar to one another, same style of music same vibe.
Romain Batard is back with one of the most interesting video series in skateboarding. And ever since he delivered that quote in our interview with him he has been steadily delivering Giddy’s with a stronger sense of concept and individuality.
Steve Malet kills it in number 8! He is one of Paris’ most exciting skaters out there right now even though he is not even originally from France. But Steve is only one reason and this Giddy truly delivers from the skating, the editing, the song choice and the special effects. It is a good rounded out piece of work!
The Place Roadtrip
The Place Road Trip was a 2017 French/Dutch/German/Swedish comedy bus tour directed by Daniel Pannemann, Roland Hoogwater and Danny Sommerfeld and written by Franz Grimm.
The bus stars all the above in addition to Peter Buikema, Valentin Cafuk, Valentin Bauer, the brothers Sondre Mortensen and Amandus Mortensen and Malte Spitz. The team went on a 2,000km journey through Germany and France.
They soon found out to their shock and horror that their final destination is doomed to be Disneyland Paris. Upon entering the park, they immediately discover that the castle in the world famous Walt Disney Resort is not in fact real and that ticket prices are lower on the internet.
Filmed and edited by Peter Buikema.
A.E.I.U.O (P2) END
Augustin Giovannons “A.E.I.U.O” just came out with a second part and it shows almost a full part of our columnist Franz Grimm and a lot of good footage from a lot of our good friends. Arguably Augustin’s best work, so far! Berlin, Paris, Copenhagen.
Levis Skateboarding – The 501® Original
Credited as the original Levi’s presents us with their holy grail the 501 jeans adapted for skateboarding. Valentin Bauer, Edouard Depaz and Quentin Boillon where selected to show their capabilities while wearing the “new” jean and it looks good.
Öctagon – ALPHA
After watching (read completed) this new “ALPHA” tutorial by the system called Öctagon you will feel rejuvenated and excited to go out and skate.
A.E.I.U.O by Augustin Giovannoni
In our opinion, his best work so far. Augustin Giovannoni drops a new edit and at the very end you will see the date his full length video might be released. Paris, Berlin & Potsdam feat.: Val Bauer, Tolia Titaev, Niklas Speer von Cappeln, Remy Taveira, Daniel Pannemann, Franz Grimm & many more.
PLACEMAGPAULE IN COPENHAGEN – TRAVEL RECAP 2017
With all the CPH coverage dropping we present to you one last recap to close it off and that is the PLACEMAGPAULE photo recap.
Contrary to last year almost the whole PLACE staff traveled to arguably the best city in the world. But even though we were all in the same city, festival rules applied, which meant that within moments we lost each other and started doing our own thing. We all ended up at different events and safe for a few moments only saw each other at the plethora of parties that the CPH Open is host to.
It seemed everybody had a great time at every single event but our highlight was definitely the Levi’s event which looked rained out at first but ended up saving our lives by offering us a boat ride, good food, cold drinks and a very hot but healthy sauna experience!
We wish we could say “See you next year!” but the organizers felt that it was time for a break. So we will end it by saying, enjoy Paule’s photo recap and see you at the next Copenhagen Open.

Öctagon – Meta Video
On the one side, the modern society as evil machinery that unnoticeably takes control about our being, and on the other, the Öctagon members that refuse to defer and try to breakout of the a system of false reality. A really great and artistic approach combined with strong skateboarding.
Featuring Edouard Depaz, Remy Taveira, Yeelen Moens, Joseph Biais, Valentin Bauer, Bram de Cleen and Florian Merten.
ÖCTAGON – PERCEPTIÖN
The system known as Öctagon just produced a new video, Öctagon is a special brand with a distinct flavor of its own. Once again the video delivers a strong message when it comes to the editing, the music and the skating.
The clip features: Maya Coline, Remy Taveira, Joseph Biais, Bram De Cleen, Edouard Depaz, Valentin Bauer, Yeelen Moens & Florian Merten
Öctagon – Surveyör
The Öctagon squad returns with a new clip showcasing the talents of Valentin Bauer, Joseph Biais, Bram de Cleen, Edouard Depaz, Remy Taveira and more. Black and white footy straight from the future. Excellent soundtrack included:
Öctagon is totalitarian. Every human notion has been replaced by data and individuals are constantly under surveillance, which is insured by Surveyör. The program is checking the data transformation to their tasks state.

“The Öctagon is totalitarian and omniscient. Billions of data are generated by this independent system and build a unique reality. Individuals live within the Öctagon. Geographic space doesn’t exist for real, it is not tangible but still defined by a multitude of data.”
