A big part of Supreme’s program is based around working with people that either have a great history (in the limelight) or with people that deserve to have their moment in the sun. Mike Hill is not an “in the spotlight kind of guy” but if we (the skateboard community) ever decide to make a hall of fame he should be inducted into it.

So instead of googling “Mike Hill skateboarding” for you, this time we will leave it up to you to decide if you want to invest your time into someone Supreme is investing their time in.

My colleague Roland says that, if you break it down, there is acutally only one important criterion about a skate video: Either it makes you want to skate or not. So now, I could start to describe in detail why Joey Guevara‘s new part makes me want to skate so bad that, if it would be dry outside (which unfortunately is not the case) I would just leave the office and call it a day, but let’s face it, I already told you everything you need to know… I mean if you break it down, of course.

Alien Workshop proudly announced Yaje Popson who reminds a little bit of Austin Gilette when he used to be on the team back then and, not less stylish, Joey Guevara as their newest pro team riders. We really hope to see more of both in the very near future!

Ever wonder why those Supreme videos are so good? It is because the man behind them has had a long history of working for and filming with some of the best to ever do it. Bobshirt interviews are some of the best in-depth interviews and Transworld definitely made the right move by picking them up. Enjoy Fat Bill and Anthony Pappalardo shooting the shit for old times sake.

Alien Workshop lebt – so viel ist sicher, ob die Company aus Ohio an ihre alten Glanzzeiten anknüpfen kann – wir wissen es nicht. Was wir bis jetzt seit der Wiedergeburt gesehen habe sieht aber schonmal ziemlich vielversprechend aus: Nach Joey Guavera und Paul Liliani ist mit Frankie Spears gerade der dritte Teamfahrer bekanntgegeben worden. Sein Welcome Part ist absolut sehenswert: BS Smithgrind anyone!?

Lasst alles stehen und liegen – ein neues Video aus dem Hause Alien Workshop ist online. Wer genau da jetzt im gewohnt bizarren Clip herumheizt bleibt vorerst unbestätigt; ein Name, der allerdings immer wieder zu lesen ist und auch generell mit AWS in Verbindung gebracht wird, ist Paul Liliani – Style, Talent und Pop hat der Bursche jedenfalls:

Totgesagte leben länger, und wenn sich die umgehenden Gerüchte bewahrheiten, könnte das neue Jahr direkt mit einem Paukenschlag losgehen: Im Youtube Channel von Alien Workshop wurde gestern ein mysteriöse Video hochgeladen, auf Instagram tauchte zeitgleich ein Foto auf, das allen Fans der Boardcompany Mut machen dürfte. Es scheint als würden alle Zeichen wieder auf GO stehen – wir bleiben dran und sobald es offizielle Neuigkeiten gibt, erfahrt ihr sie hier an Ort und Stelle. Jetzt macht euch aber erstmal selbst ein Bild:

Jason Dill Footage nach Mindfield und vor cherry. Eine Compilation von einem Fan, dem die Skateboard Geräusche anscheinend völlig egal sind. Eigentlich ein No-Go aber mit dem Song auch schnell wieder verziehen. “I don’t need you to worry about me ’cause im alright.” Dankeschön Fanboy!

Habitat

Nach dem Untergang von Alien Workshop fragt man sich zurecht, wie es um die Tochterfirma Habitat Skateboards & Footwear steht. Joe Castrucci ist Hauptverantwortlicher und äußert sich wie folgt:

“Times are weird, that’s for sure. I can’t really speak for AWS but I know myself and the [Habitat] skate team are still unified and we have good respectable options for the future. There are just legal and financial details we are working through at the moment with the I.P. (Investment partner). I’m feeling pretty stoked for Habitat’s future though. I’m sure things will look much different but I love change, so I’m not that mad at it. I’ll keep you posted as things progress! Thanks, Joe” — Joe Castrucci, Habitat Skateboards.

Wir dürfen somit vorerst aufatmen und hoffen auf baldige Entschleunigung aller Turbulenzen. Bei einem Team mit Leuten wie: Stefan Janoski, Silas Baxter-Neal, Mark Suciu und Brian Delatorre sollte man meinen, dass sich einiges wieder gerade biegen wird.

Jake Johnson

Jake Johnson taucht plötzlich auf der Converse Cons Seite auf und konnte somit endlich einen neuen Schuhsponsor finden. Gerüchten zufolge soll er bereits diesen Sommer mit den Cons Jungs nach Berlin kommen; desweiteren hört man immer wieder, dass auch Polar Skate Co. an Jake interessiert sei. Only time will tell.

Jake für Destructo:

Nike SB Australien präsentiert Two Up – ein Projekt mit den zwei australischen Ausnahmeskatern Nick Boserio und Alex Campbell. Bevor Boserio sich genadenlos aus jegliche Geländer wirft, zeigt Alex Campbell einen Hauch mehr Zehenspitzengefühl und technisches Skaten. Zwei Full Parts der Extraklasse!
