There are many things to say about this Vans trip to Milano, things like Samual Norgren holding his own by keeping close to himself, Helena Long, Aurora & Miriam’s ripping, Florentin Marfaing’s magic, but most of all we feel strongly about Chris Pfanner bringing his mother on tour. Simply amazing!

Shake Junt & Hijinx Net´s “SHRIMP BLUNT”
Finally, we know what the one and only Beagle is smoking. The “Shrimp Blunt” is his new smoking delight, and it seems to hit just right. Beagle and Shane Heyl brought together the whole(!) Shake Junt family and put out another masterpiece full of hijinx, good times, movie skits(!), and some amazing skating. The perfectly fitting soundtrack makes it even better. Eat that shrimp!

STINKY TROUBLE – CARACAST
The title of the crew clashes somewhat with the idea behind Bella Italia but skateboarders are known to sleep, eat and live on the streets no matter the weather so in that sense it is a nice juxtaposition.
Nike SB – Crust Belt Tour
Nike and the NBA did it again and this time the squad seemed to know the plays and did some joint destruction on most spots.

LaDolceVita – Grand Hotel Lido
We just got a mail from Sicily and, as always, it contained some good news. Mauro Caruso & Patrick Frunzio discovered the “Grand Hotel Lido” and brought Martino Cattaneo, Aref Koushesh and Jacopo Carozzi along on the abandoned terrain. What a crazy spot! Read more about it:
I guess it could sound strange and weird to compare California and Siciliy ways of life…
But, for a good long period, these two areas, as far enough as similar to each other, had something in common.
It’s a particular type of architecture, that first in America, then all along Sicilian coasts, had an important development right after World War 2.
We are talking about the raising of seaside resorts, “villages for the beaches”, those places born to satisfy the desire of that middle-class average human being to escape from the everyday boring jobs and life, to sprint themselves straight into this limbo of channeled fun.
This new business got in the mindset of lots of Sicilian contractor’s, and soon enough Sicily was full of these new type of villages.
Our attention fell into one of these places, full Azzurro-sky color, thanks to some pics found on the web of some kids going around inside this kind of swimming pool, incredible, not typical for this island at all.
Useless to say it, here it’s where the Club checked-in once again: call the crew, a mission to check if that was real or not, a few chats with the neighborhoods to check if it was all good, and a few friends from north Italy ready to smash it with us.
Unfortunately that’s the other side of the medallion…people here are really calm and friendly, but any situation can turn the complete opposite any second for any reasons, especially when, after some research, you find out the long claws of the Black Hand had found its way to land on that structure as well, till the place got totally shut down many years ago; we really just wanted to skate and not ended up face to face with some Scarface kids.
The hardest thing was to find a cheap vehicle to go around, but luckily, we managed to borrow our friend Gionni’s car for free…the fact that it didn’t have all the documents to be driven around and that it would only start by pushing it, that’s another story, and you know you always need that pepper in life to get the right taste.
Skating that place was both cool and a bit sad: first of all, it doesn’t happen every day to be able to find and skate something like that in Sicily, but at the same time it’s sad to see a structure with that potential, culturally and architecturally, ended up like that.
An eco of 90’s piano-bar music goes around the air and send us straight to those days when people were still believed to have a different future than the one built on a sand castle.
Nike SB – Daan Van Der Linden
For some, this news may come as a shock to you.. but to those lurking hard, this news has come as no surprise.

Jacopo Carozzi – Remix Part
What do you do when you have a lot of footage here and there and probably know it would be cool to have it put altogether? Well, Jacopo Carozzi stopped thinking about it and just made it done! Let’s rave!

Element – Zygote Video
Element Skateboards’ newest video production includes more or less the whole global team, but still, there is one guy who dares to outshine them all. If you listen carefully you can already hear some voices calling Evan Smith for the next SOTY…
Featuring Brandon Westgate, Nyjah Huston, Madars Apse, Mark Appleyard, Ray Barbee, Nick Garcia, Julian Davidson, Jarne Verbruggen, Dennis Durrant, Alex Lawton, Sascha Daley, Nathan Jackson, Tom Schaar, Greyson Fletcher, Nassim Guammaz, Tyson Peterson, Dominick Walker, Jacopo Carozzi, Jaako Ojanen, Chris Colbourn, Ethan Loy, Mason Silva, Chad Tim Tim, Levi Brown and Evan Smith.
New World Element – Europe
Element once was one of the first brands to do a “real” European team, what I mean by real is they gave out Euro pro boards, had their own videos with their own distinct vibe. At one moment the European version of Element was arguably sicker than the US one. They also where one of the first to bring together the EU guys with the US guys, breaking that weird boundary that was once there. This new edit features some of the best from both worlds edited by the renowned French Fred, Jarne opens the video in his own way and Jacopo Carozzi closes the thing by adding his youthfull flavor to the team. Enjoy!
Nike SB Euros in SF pt. 1 & 2

La Dolce Vita – Vans Spring Classic Snapshot Recap
Looks like the new thing for this year is having skateboard events by the beachside. And guess what: we don’t mind that! Mille Grazie to Vans for the invitation to this year’s edition of the Vans Spring Classic. It’s the most popular mini ramp contest in Italy, not only showcasing some of the best transition skaters from Europe but also from the U.S.. The Anti Hero team showed up including Grant Taylor who definitely turned out to be the biggest name to annihilate this amazing and newly built ramp. Located in the beach town of Riccione, close to Rimini, the Spring Classic not only offered insanely great skateboarding, but also a lot nice entertainment surrounding the main event – from concerts, to parties, free beers, all the way to girls in blue dresses dancing like there’s no tomorrow. All in all, it was a weekend where it was easy to get a solid sunburn while watching mini ramp skating at it’s best while meeting awesome people. The Italians call it la dolce vita – and we want more!
